Getting Here…

Q: How hard is the hike…really?

A: The hike-in to our cabins is 2.15 miles and gains 1,350′ of elevation. Guests usually take 1.5 hrs +/- depending on pace and number of breaks.

Q: Is the Trailhead hard to find?

A: No. We provide detailed directions on our visit us page. The Trailhead is clearly marked with our Hipcamp sign and GPS systems in your vehicle, or on your smartphone, will take you directly to the address which is 19001 NC-209 Hot Springs, NC 28743.

Q: Can you haul my stuff up to the Mountain for me?

A: Accommodations can be made a week before arrival for a small fee. 

What To Bring

Q: Do I have to bring my own bedding?

A: We provide bed linens and pillows but encourage guests to bring their own sleeping bags for personal comfort. 

Q: Do I need to bring my own food?

A: We provide breakfast as well as coffee, tea, and water. Dinner is available for $20 per person, per night. You can also bring your own food for dinner and use the kitchen facilities at your convenience.

Q: Can I bring my pet?

A: Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets at this time. 

Q: Do I need to bring my own water?

A: We provide filtered, crystal clear water for drinking, but make sure to start the hike with a full bottle.

The Cabins and Trails

Q: Do you have refrigeration? Can I bring up something to eat that must be kept cool?

A: We have limited space in our coolers, but will happily keep your small items cool.

Q: Are there any hiking trails on the property?

A: We have a few pristine, established hiking trails aside from the main trail up and down the Mountain. These range from 1/4 mile to 1 1/2 miles and are perfect for a relaxing afternoon walk and picnic or a challenging hike.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We require one week notice for a full refund for small parties and individuals and two weeks notice for a full refund for property buyouts

Q: How will I see at night if there is no electricity?

A: While we use our rustic propane lamps and natural star and moon light to brighten the night, we encourage you to bring a headlamp or flashlight for ease of navigation in the dark.

Q: I have a food allergy, can you accommodate me?

A: Sure, just let us know in advance when you make your reservation.

Q: I’m allergic to pet dander/feathers/etc…can I still come to the Mountain?

A:  Sure. Normally we keep a couple of cats on property but let us know ahead of time when you make your reservation, and we will be happy to accommodate you with a pet-free space.

Q: Is photography allowed?

A: Yes, and the Mountain is a photographer’s paradise! Please be mindful of asking permission if you are including people in your shots, though.
